The New Moon cycle in Cancer on July 17th, 2023. A sudden course correction.
The New Moon in the sign of Cancer of the Tropical Zodiac takes place today at 20:30 CEST. This new moon where the sun and moon join in the sensitive water sign Cancer is at 24 degrees and it makes an opposition with Pluto Retrograde in Capricorn at 29 degrees. It is in sextile to Uranus in Taurus and in a trine aspect with Neptune Retrograde.
Pluto is currently in a square with the nodes of the moon, it is reviewing our past, showing us what to adjust more, transform and let go of before we can realy step into the new reality. This is why I see this new moon having a strong Plutonian influence. An energy of change and ending and therefore new beginnings. The square to the nodes feels like an obstacle not being able to move forward. It is an integration point, something that needs to be acknowledged. For example questions that can be relevant to you: How did some Plutonian influence, or authority mess with your sense of security? or How is there a change in your work and home life balance that needs to be addressed? How was the way you used your power of authority over others that needs to be revised to have a better and healthier use of that power?
The dark moon phase is a moment to set new intentions. In this case to heal and let go. I would say in this case around finalizing what the Pluto in Capricorn cycle has brought up for you. It is a good time to reflect on what happened in your life since 2008. So you can implement the changes and feel more empowered. The Pluto transit in Capricorn will finish it’s cycle in the beginning of 2024.
This new moon cycle also has a strong aquarian influence due to the build up to the fulll moon and a lot of aspects forming to uranus in taurus. We start this cycle with some heavy energies becoming much lighter moving towardsvthe next new moon which is in playfull Leo.
We also have an applying Sun Pluto opposition in this moon cycle. It is exact on July 22nd. A revision of what Capricornian authority is influencing your personality. Your sense of self-expression. Even your health. Your ability to shine. This can be any authority figure from a parent to a government institution. Perhaps you grew into an authority of something and now you will change your job or career entirely. An identity change is upon us.
For example, we have the fall of the cabinet at this time in Dutch politics. This new moon will bring up a lot of emotions because a few politicians have stepped down including the Prime Minister. It is therefor a new beginning for them on the home front, since it is also the 8-week recess period. Very unfortunate and unfair but clear example of this energy is that A female politician and minister of finance, leader of a party has stepped down to protect her family due to being harassed for some time now.
The Mars in Virgo opposing Saturn Retrograde opposition during this moon cycle is wonderful to take conscious and responsible action. Step by step implementing what you want to do. To implement details. I feel this to be a helpful aspect. Although it might feel like we don’t move fast enough with our projects.
In short, this new moon will feel uncomfortable for everyone. Like any other cancer moon, it is wise to give your emotions some space. Validate your feelings over your thoughts. With three outer planets involved in this new moon, it is a collective inner shift and change. Something needs to be reflected on, acknowledges, and let go of.

16th of July Sun in Cancer conjuncts the Moon in Cancer at 24 degrees. A new/dark moon phase. A difficult emotional time. As it build up to the opposition with Pluto.
26th of July Moon in Scorpio square the Sun in Leo at 3 degrees. Also called a First Quarter moon phase. Other peoples resources, loans you took on and occult or esoteric. Also a good day to study some astrology. The emphasis and need to go deep versus having fun and play outside in the sun.
August 1st Moon in Aquarius opposing the sun in Leo at 9 degrees. A Full Moon day. It is in square with Jupiter. We can clearly envision our future but we lack the resources or investment for now. No matter how fortunate you are a square is felt by everyone. We always want more of what we currently know and have, it is our nature to grow and expand. Friends, group gatherings and community are highlighted.
August 8 Moon in Taurus square to the Sun in Leo at 16 degrees. Also called a last-quarter moon phase. It is a powerfull exalted moon in taurus in conjunction to Jupiter. All earthy senses are hightened. The focus on the body and food related topics. The love for the tangible and fysical realities in our existence. I also see a selfworth upgrade and on this auspicious spiritual date on the Lions gate portal this year with the exalted moon is an invitation for more rapid changes in our souls evolution to occur. In the midst of a Venus retrograde ruler of Taurus, this tells me a strong taurus lesson will be taught because here is where the adjustment needs to take place. A positive last quarter moon even though it involves change. The environmental changes are very aparent in this cycle with floodings and forest fires on the globe as highbocean temperatures and coral reef bleeching. Gaia is in distress. It is finally at the last quarter moon that a meeting is planned with governments in charge of managing the amazone forests. Prayers for humanity and the next generations.
